Things to Do this October (some for humans and some for canines!)

If you are looking for some fun for you or your family this month, particularly if you’re in the mood for some Halloween themed fun, check out the below events! All are scheduled for the end of the month in Montgomery County and there are activities for everyone, including your canine family members. Read on for details!

Silver Spring Crafts and Desserts Festival

Pick up some holiday crafts and go nuts with desserts and sweets at this festival on Sunday, October 27th from 1-6pm at 1 Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring Maryland! The fair, which is a free event, is also hosting a kids costume parade from 3-3:30pm with a prize going to the best costume–needless to say, this is a family friendly event (and one that may require a loose pair of pants with all of that candy and desserts!)

Maryland Brewery Tours

Maryland Brewery Tours takes you to 4 different breweries in and around Rockville. The tour is $75 per person and includes transportation from Rockville Cambria Hotel, a behind the scenes tour at each stop, a pint of your choosing at each brewery, plus some freebies! The tour leaves at 11:45 on Saturday October 26th and stop at Saints Row Brewing, 7 Locks Brewing, Silver Branch Brewing, and Rock Bottom Brewing. The tour is about 5.5 hours and is perfect for bringing a large group of (adult) family members or out of town guests, as the company offers a discount for a party of 5 or more!

Howl-o-ween Party

Hosted by the Montgomery County Humane Society (MCHS), this event is the last in their 2019 “Pups on the Patio” series. Taking place at Silver Diner in Gaithersburg on October 30th from 4-7pm, this free event includes a costume party and parade for your dog, with a prize going to best canine costume! In addition, there will be a photographer on site to document your dog, plus happy hour drink and food specials for the humans. Of course, it’s all for a good cause: there will be a signature cocktail made with Titos’ Vodka and Tito’s will donate $1/per drink sold to MCHS. Not to be outdone, Silver Diner will be donating 10% of all guests’ checks to MCHS as well!

Come out with your 2 legged or 4 legged family members for some fall fun! And, if all of this excitement has made you want to move to Montgomery County, give Lise a call at 240-401-5577 to start looking!
